Candle Magic.

This month I thought I would share with you a nice idea for candle magic.

As you know candles are a very effective way of focusing and harnessing both our own energy and intentions and those of spirit and the angels and other elements around us.

A simple candle ritual would involve choosing a coloured candle to represent the energy your require to harness and engraving on it your goal or intention. Then burn the candle for one hour a day over a period of a week.

You can make your alter as simple or elaborate as you like and include other elements, such as flowers, incense, or crystals. Choose an element to represent the five elements of life, Earth (Crystals or Flowers are good for this), Water, Air (Most often either Incense or a Feather is chosen for this element) Fire (The candles themselves) and Spirit (Again incense or a small picture of a spirit guide or angel)

Please don't forget that you can use any colour candle you like. It doesn't have to be Pink for love, Green is just as good a colour as it is also the colour of the Heart Chakra. Likewise please don't overlook the benefits of Black as a colour, it is a great colour for emptying, cleansing away negative energies or blockages. Black represents an empty board, on which you can create your future.

Below are my suggestions for colour choices, but they are only suggestions and not set in stone, so if they don't feel right for you ignore them and go with what resonates with your inner being.

Black - Empties the space, bringing calm and peace. Highly cleansing.

Red- Determination, Grounding, Positive force, Energises. Sexual.

Orange - Confidence, Warmth, Harmony, Brings a feeling of self esteem.

Yellow - Energy, Intelligence, Optimism and Hope.

Green - Health, Growth, Heart related, pure unselfish love.

Aquamarine - Universal consciousness, Love, Angelic guidance and connection.

Blue - Communication, Peace and Harmony.

Indigo - (Dark or Denim Blue) Foresight, Psychic perception, inspiration.

Violet - Balance between physical and spiritual. Knowledge, Wisdom and Patience.

White - Spiritual Energiser and Healer, Love Light and Harmony in its purest sense.

Pink - Innocent Love, Childlike Love. Optimism.

Brown - Dependability, stability, Earth.

Silver - Linked to the Moon, brings mood stability, intuition, very feminine.

Gold - Linked to the Sun, brings drive and determination, brilliance, very masculine.
