I am totally disgusted. Last night I was watching a documentary on a German program about cotton.

Do you know that the Indian cotton growers spray their crops with very heavily with formaldehyde, a deadly poison outlawed in Europe for many years, also DDT and nerve gasses are used to combat insect damage? The farmers are spraying their crops at all growing stages, even when ripe.

Then they are sprayed with some more chemicals and poisonous dyes added or bleached in chlorine, which is then rinsed in the local streams. And then more chemicals are added to soften the produced products, very often cheap t-shirts.

In all over 2000 poisonous chemicals are added before they reach the market in Europe.

This whole thing came to be investigated because two women became severely ill after working in a retail shop selling these garments, and had great problems with dizziness, walking and tremors and on neurological examination it was found that both these women had suffered brain damage due to these chemicals.

The company Bayer was interviewed as they were the main supplier of these toxins and they said it was the responsibility of the farmers to read the instructions on the leaflets. Most of these farmers are illiterate.

In these days when we encounter more and more allergies and often try this and that and have no idea what is making us so hypersensitive it is worth having a look to see if our clothing does in fact make us ill.

So if you have this problem, maybe you have been diagnosed with late-onset MS, stay away from cotton and see if your symptoms are improving.
