I Hold Your HandWhen all is darkness and despair And none there is who seems to care No comfort comes to ease your mind A friend on earth you cannot find I hold your hand
You cannot smile through endless tears Your world is fraught with doubt and fears The present seems a hopeless grey You dread to meet another day I hold your hand
O human friend your tears are mine Your sufferings with mine entwine Your doubts and fears I make my own Your sorrow and your grief is known I hold your hand
But daylight comes and hope is born And happiness comes with the sawn The clouds have passed, the sun breaks through And life seems to begin anew I hold your hand
You may not know that I am there In joy and in your deep despair In dream and in your quiet thought With loving touch I bring support I hold your hand
And this will ever surely be In life and through eternity I hold your hand
