Medway Circle Dance Group

Ancient traditions and symbolism...

Circle Dance is based in European folk dance and draws on its ancient traditions and symbolism. Many of the dances originate from Eastern Europe and the Mediterranean region, while others have been choreographed by modern teachers. They can be fast or slow, gentle meditations, celebrations or dances that are vibrant and energetic.

A living tradition...

Common threads binding them together are the ease with which they can be learned by those who have no training or previous experience in dance, and their deeply healing power. Circle Dance is a living tradition in which a personal connection to the dances, within an atmosphere that allows their inner qualities to be directly experienced, is more important than details of style or form.

The Medway Circle Dance group meets on the 3rd Saturday of each month, from 2pm - 4pm, at Borstal Village Hall, Wouldham Road (corner of Silver Hill), Borstal, Rochester. £4 per session. No partner or experience needed. Light refreshments provided.
