Monika's Diary
FRIDAY 21ST MARCH
Now that I have come back from my holiday in Tunisia, I feel I have
something new to say. We had a wonderful time looking at all the plants
growing naturally all around us.
Oh, to have Calendula officinalis growing in my garden like those growing
there. The size of them. They seem to grow taller than those in my garden
and the flowers appear to be twice the size in diameter. But there seems to
be also a wild variety of Calendula, much smaller than the cultivated
variety. The flower head is only about 1/2 cm in diameter, which I still have
to identify and any help in this matter is greatly appreciated. Do these
have any medicinal properties? I should think so, but so far I have to find
out. They certainly are pretty and grow in the waste places like so many
other medicinal plants.
The Hibiscus were in flower, too as were the mallow plants. One week of
summer!
It was wonderful to see the Nasturtiums in bloom and I remember thinking if
I should have the flu, I shall pick some and make some tea as it is a
natural antibiotic and antiviral.
On Friday we went to the Berber village and enjoyed a traditional lunch
followed by either Peppermint tea or Rosemary tea. They are good as they aid
digestion. After that we went to a Roman bath and enjoyed a steam bath,
opening all the pores and eliminating the toxins. My skin felt like a
baby's. Clean from the inside out.
I must confess I did not go into the sea, as it was still too cold, but
lying in the warm sand was beautiful and was a perfect opportunity to
recharge the chakras directly from the sun. Relaxing like this is good for
the health of body, mind and spirit.
For those of you, who can feel the energies, we tried an experiment to find
out where East was and by just raising the arm and slowly bringing it
forward till you feel the resistance, that appears to be the East. Try it
out for yourself and let me know what you found.
Now here we are home again and it seems that I did manage to put the sun
into my suitcase and bring it home. Not so the temperatures. But you can't
have everything. It is enough to see all the spring flowers in blossom and
also the flowering trees.
On a much more serious note, this threat of war naturally concerns me as
it does everyone else in the world. It probably means a lot of disruption in
the trade and supply of medicinal herbs so therefore I urge you to plant as
many as you can in your gardens or in pots on the balcony. Just to safeguard
yourself and your families.
Perhaps if we all send unconditional love to the leaders, who are so set on
war, we might be able to change their perception on the whole thing.
Sending you all unconditional love
Monika
