The Devil.

The Devil is probably one of the most unpleasant cards you can get. This card will, if it can, make you majorly angry, have you tied up in red tape and obligation, and leave you feeling abused and dominated.

Guess what? It is your fault! I know you didn’t want to hear that but its true. The only person who can sell your soul to the Devil is you, no one else.

The Devil comes into our life when we make an offer, agreement or contract out of the goodness of our own heart without fully understanding the consequences of our actions.

For example a simple offer to do the shopping for ageing parent one Friday, may lead to a weekly commitment to carry out the same task for the remainder of your life! You can stay at my house for a couple of weeks, may be merrily dragging into the following year with the devil’s influence. It doesn’t just have to be a warning card when it comes to friends and family, although this is normally the case, it can also warn about major contracts and legal obligations. So two months prior to seeing the Devil in a reading, start reading the small print and paying careful attention to how each and every clause within any contract can affect you in the long run.

So how do you get out of this situation once you have landed yourself in it? Firstly, be cool calm and collected. The Devil wants to get you all riled up and angry, its gonna get him no satisfaction if you are calm about the whole thing. Secondly, from your calm state, make sure you are paying attention to the other areas of your life and that you are not putting all your energy and attention in this one negative basket. To dwell to heavily on the situation will in fact feed it, so it is always best to take some time out for yourself to do something nice for you. A quiet walk by the river, a weekend away, a trip to the Theatre, whatever you like, but give yourself a break from the stress.

That is it in a nutshell. You can’t end the situation, it has to end itself, but ignoring it and enjoying the other aspects of your life will effectively stop feeding the situation and help it draw to a speedier close.

Cards to look out for after the Devil, to end his influence are. The World. The Death Card. Temperance and The Sun.
