The Hermit

The Hermit is alone, wise in his own council.

The Greta Garbo of the Tarot Deck, is how I see the Hermit.  When this card comes up people have a tendency to do a fair impression of her famous line "I Want To Be Alone!" and it is just that.

The Hermit is wise, but he can't access all that wisdom with loads of people rushing in and out of his hut, with kids screaming and dogs barking. So the Hermit tells us to take some time away from the hustle and bustle of modern life. Take the phone off the hook, ignore the doorbell and tell everyone you are going away for the weekend, even when your not!

Then and only then, when you truly have some space to yourself and some peace of mind can you find the answers to all those burning "What if" questions that have been driving you crazy.

The answers have been there inside you all along, but you just can't get to them unless you can still the chattering monkeys of life within and around you.

So if this card comes up for you, it says you need and enjoy your own space.  You have great wisdom and insight but need peace and quiet to access it. Book yourself a nice spiritual retreat somewhere out in the middle of nowhere, or as I said before just tell everyone you have and unplug the phone.

Give yourself some time, and the answers will come.
