The Moon.

The Moon has sometimes held the reputation of being a card dealing with deception, false friends and underhand dealings, and as a night-time card, it can certainly have this interpretation. But be cautious, not all dark cards have a dark meaning, so you do really need to look at the surrounding cards for a hint of what it is really all about.

The Moon is a multifaceted card, which can be seen from so many different angles it is worthy of its own book of interpretations! So lets look at the moon one step at a time.

Back in the days of yore, when the moon was seen only as a night time body, unknown and unexplored, it talked of mystery and unknown dangers. Hence the false friends and deception idea.

In mythology the goddess of the moon was the only goddess able to travel the three realms of existence, the heavens, the underworld, and our world. Because of this the moon can talk about our ability to travel and explore these worlds, thereby bringing a sense of balance to our existence. The moon evens out the distance between our physical and spiritual lives.

The moon is also held responsible for not just our psychic abilities but also the menstrual cycle of women, and I am sure you have heard the term ‘Lunatic’ a tic or change in behaviour due to the moon. When the moon comes up in a reading therefore, it can smooth out the general swings of temper or behaviour, easing away the terrible highs and lows of emotion and bring about a more stable and calmer approach to life in general.

As our spiritual awareness opens with the approach of the moon, we become more aware of our own intuition and can use this finer tuned connection to enhance both our spiritual and physical lives. We remove our preconditioned filters, of coincidence and peer pressure, and start taking real notice of our inner voice or intuition.

In general, rejoice when you see the moon, accept her blessings and be open to her gentle knowledge and inspiration. If your inner voice is nagging you about someone that perhaps you shouldn’t be trusting, take heed, keep your own council for a while and as the moons cycle completes you will find everything will come to light.
