QUIGONG

Qigong (usually pronounced as chi kung) can be roughly translated as “working with energy”, or as “energy cultivation”.  It is an ancient art of self-healing and self-development through a combination of breathing techniques, simple physical movements and postures, meditation and visualisation.

Qigong has many different styles and forms.  The art originated in China many thousands of years ago – it may be as much as 4,500 years old - and is still being very widely practiced.  It is, in essence, a way of working with the vital energy (Qi) that exists in and flows through all of Nature.  It is said that qigong has the capacity to unify (or perhaps reunify) its practitioners with the Universe.

Over the centuries, qigong has become closely associated with many other arts and disciplines, for example calligraphy, acupuncture, and the martial arts.  Qigong is a very effective way to enhance another practice on the physical, mental and spiritual levels.

Here are details of some forthcoming seminars teaching qigong (chi kung) from the Quindo system. All these seminars will be held at Silver Moons, 194 High Street (close to the junction with Star Hill), Rochester, Kent. They will run from 10am until 3pm, including a break for lunch. Cost per seminar is £20 - payable on the day, but please book your place asap, as it's a small space so numbers will be very limited.
