Tarot as a Therapy.
Whilst reading Tarot for a wide variety of people over the years I have noticed a common denominator to the experience, that being a need for guidance and reassurance that we are indeed upon the correct path for us.
Quite often in my own life I have turned to the Tarot for this reassurance, and I am always finding new examples of how a reading can be a positively uplifting experience.
Using Tarot as a tool for therapy I feel is really the way forward for readers. The Tarot can often show us the light ahead, when we are currently thrashing our way through our own personal darkness, and can teach us the valuable lessons in letting go of anger. Really dealing with issues on a spiritual level, which we have probably already overcome on a physical or material level.
Many cards speak of the valuable healing which occurs when helping another through problems we have already overcome. This for me is the final stage of healing which then leads to true release of associated emotion, and therefore enlightenment, as to the whys and wherefores of a situation.
Using Tarot in this way I find that the majority of people leave a consultation feeling that there is hope, and really inspired to continue their path, knowing that to put one's faith in the combined efforts of oneself and the universe is in fact the goal and the destination.
This may sound a little hocus pocus to you, but all I can say is give it a try.
I firmly believe that if Tarot reading is to move forward into this more enlightened age, it is to do so in a myriad of useful forms, and not just to be a quick fix oracle to help you find love or select your lottery numbers.
Tarot is a visual connection with your inner self and your higher self. It enables us to bring each into harmony with the other in a most gentle and reassuring way. There is so much information to be gleaned from within each card, and so your intuition leads you naturally to the root cause of a problem, and the best way to deal with it. Please notice I am not saying solve it, because as you are aware, there are many times and instances in life when solving is impossible, but understanding, accepting and adapting your attitudes are always possible.
Faith healing works because of the faith, the power of your mind and its connection with all living things. Tarot for me is just another aspect of this connection, like a television set if you like, for the lazy psychics among us, but the inspiration, the confirmation and the acceptance, of who and what we are as individuals within the greater scheme of things, is all there to see.
It is much easier to move forward with your life if you feel you have approval in doing so, approval of your parents, your peers or even your children. Tarot enables us to see that we are moving even when we feel static, and that the guidance and love from those around us, both on this plane and on others remains constant.
Have a go on yourself if you like. Think about yourself and your personal issues, of where you have been and where you intend to go, what you wish to achieve. Shuffle your cards and pick four, each to represent and aspect of this problem or issue. Card 1, where you have been. Card 2, what you have been experiencing. Card 3, where you will be if you continue along your current trajectory. And finally Card 4, advice you should take on board. I think you may find the results interesting… Keara |
