This is a personal favourite spread that I started using on
instinct and have found so successful I have never become bored with it!
Readings are long or short according to the size of the pile the
questioner chooses. The timescale of this spread isn’t excellent, but I
say a row per month as a very rough rule of thumb. It is a simple
flexible spread that adapts well to every situation.
Ask the questioner to shuffle the cards and then divide it
into three separate piles. They don’t have to be even. Then ask the
questioner to select a pile. Lay this pile card by card roughly six cards
per row, interpreting them a row at a time.
First Row
Second Row
ETC.
The first row signifies the past to card 6, which is
the now card. All the following cards are future. I find that
the first row gives me a useful insight and grounding to what is going on in the
questioners life without being so far in the past that it has lost its
relevance. Also please note the links between cards on the vertical line,
sometimes they can clarify trends and therefore enable you to see both action
and reaction within the reading. At first you will find yourself reading
very much row by row, but with time and practice you will be reading vertically
a lot more to find your relevant trends.
